good day in bloomington

yesterady morning i woke up at the crack of 10 am. sleeping in was good for me b/c i’ve not been getting a ton of sleep lately.

after i get up i make a a fried egg sandwhich and an awesome cup of coffee. i enjoy these delicacies on my porch swing b/c the weather is so nice. i call up two friends and we head over to the farmers market. i buy a couple of seedlings to get the growing season going (tomatoes, basil, thyme and some eucalyptus).

as we are leaving the market we are talking about plans for the rest of the day and next week. we want to go to one of the local wineries to taste and picnic later in the week but it’s not going to work out b/c they close to early. my friend skippy says: well we should go sometime when we have time and the weather is great. and i say: like today? we all laugh as the lightbulb goes off in our heads that it’s an awesome day and we have nothing to do (i.e. the perfect day for a trip to the winery).

we meet up at their house about an hour later and go to the local market to buy cheese, chocolate, olives, and crackers. their homemade challah is in tow with some la croix and some fruit. soon after the market we are on our way to the winery which is a short 6 miles out of town. we are very impressed at the first look at the grounds and head inside for the free booze. i really enjoyed the tasting b/c i find wines intimidating and therefore drink the same type (you know the kind in the huge jug). after the tasting we decide on a bottle of wine for the pinic and headout into the grounds where there is a big pond, a rolling hillside, and some shade trees. we layout our spread and have what turns out to be the most relaxing four hour picnic in the world. we are sun kissed and relaxed as we head back to town.

i pop in a movie and call another friend about some rollerskating later on. i have just recently purchased some new inline skates and want to test them out indoors. i used to be quite the skater back in the day and have had the itch to get back on them. she and i skated for about an hour and headed over to a friends house for a little mst 3k.

i was a great day in bloomington so i thought i’d document it. i have been putting a lot of thought into leaving this place lately so it is interesting perspective to have an awesome day here.
